Hai Pan, MD

Dr. Pan studied Chinese and Western medicine side by side at Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He then completed internal medicine residency in the United States, in the primary care track.

That mix is not common here. He can order your labs, read your imaging and write a prescription. He can also take your pulse, look at your tongue and write an herbal formula — and think about both in the same visit.

He works alongside the doctors you already have. He will tell you plainly what regular medicine does well, and when something else is worth trying.

He sees patients in English and Mandarin.

Away from the clinic, he plays badminton, fishes the creeks and reservoirs of southeastern Pennsylvania, and keeps an amateur's interest in astronomy — three pursuits that reward patience and close observation, which may explain the appeal.
